Ace cinematographer and director, Santosh Sivan has signed Prabhu Deva for his upcoming period film, Urumi. After turning director, Prabhu Deva’s onscreen appearance has been restricted to cameo roles. With films like Pokkiri and Wanted he became a hot shot director. His latest directorial venture Ich starring Jayam Ravi and Hansika is nearing completion.

After the grand success of Pokkiri Raja, Mammootty and Prithviraj are back again for a new film, The King & Commissioner. The film is going to be directed by ace director Shaji Kailas and the script will be written by Renji Panikkar. The duo is rated among the finest director-writer pairs in Malayalam cinema. Prithviraj is all set to don a new avatar as a producer for his forthcoming film Urumi. Santosh Sivan had recently signed Prithviraj and Genelia in lead roles for this period film set in the 15th century. They have set up a new production company named 'August Cinema' and pre-production is going on in full swing for the film.
