My father was a little sceptical about my becoming an actor

He is truly the man of the moment. Anyone who is even remotely familiar with Malayalam cinema will know Dulquer Salman’s illustrious lineage. Because he is, after all, the son of one of the doyens of Malayalam cinema - Mammootty! Being the son of such a huge superstar, one would expect him to make a foray into tinsel town with much fanfare and celebration. But that was not to be, because neither father nor son believed in having a grand launch. His debut film Second Show happened just like any other movie, and the response it generated saw the birth of a new star. Dulquer Salman might have made a quiet entry into the industry, but people were watching very keenly, nevertheless… Posing exclusively for Southscope at the popular and picturesque The Residency Towers Hotel in Chennai, Dulquer impresses with his charming good looks styled in impeccable clothes from Gatsby. Snehitharu

Snehitharu will feature Darshan and Pranitha as the lead pair. The supporting cast includes Tarun, Ravi Shankar and a host of others. Scheduled to hit theatres in July, the makers are depending on the Darshan-Pranitha combo to work in their favour considering that the duo’s previous film was a hit.

Thaapaana

Thaapaana is a much-awaited film with the hit pair, director Johny Antony and Megastar Mammootty, coming together once again.

Charmme (Charmy Kaur) makes a comeback to Malayalam; she had earlier done Kaattuchembakam and Agathan.

Johny Antony, who made his debut as director with CID Moosa, and then made films like Kochiraajaavu and Inspector Garud, had earlier made two films with Mammootty – Thuruppugulaan and Pattanathil Bhootham. Johny’s last film was Masters, which brought together Prithviraj and ‘Subramaniapuram fame’ Sasikumar.
