Crazy Star Ravichandran continues to chase dreams
Crazy Star Ravichandran’s movies may be bombing at the box office one after the other. But the flops have not deterred film producers from roping in the actor for big-budget projects hoping that the dreamer will recreate the Prema Loka magic.
Ravichandran’s last four films, including the latest film Hoo, performed miserably. But Dinesh Gandhi, producer of Hoo, has already announced another untitled film with Ravichandran in the lead. While Hoo was directed by Ravichandran, the untitled film will be directed by Murali Mohan.
Dinesh Gandhi had claimed that Hoo was a commercial success and therefore he had planned another film with Ravichandran. Hoo featured Meera Jasmine and Namitha in the female lead roles.
Ravichandran, who has already crossed 45 and put on lot of weight, is acting in another film titled Naariya Seere Kadda, a comedy film. This film will be directed by veteran Annaiah while actor-director Mohan has written the dialogue. Nikitha Thukral will play the female lead.
A third film has already been lined up. The movie is titled Anjada Gandu. Nearly, two decades ago, Ravichandran had acted in a film with the same title. The film, which had Khusbhoo in the female lead role, was a huge hit. Ravichandran has not revealed any details about Anjada Gandu. But sources pointed out that Namitha might be seen in Anjada Gandu.
Interestingly, Ravichandran is acting in three new films even as two of his films are still pending completion. Manjina Hani, a dream project of Ravichandran, was launched two years ago. Being directed by the actor himself, the movie is yet to be completed. Though Sandalwood sources indicated that the movie is almost shelved, Ravichandran has claimed that it is still on.
Even before completing Manjina Hani, Ravichandran announced another film titled Aase. The shooting for this movie too is pending. But the two pending movies have not perturbed the superstar who is announcing new projects and accepting offers from other producers. Ravichandran has claimed that he is not responsible for the delay in Manjina Hani and Aase.
A superstar in his own right, Ravichandran produced and directed hits after hits and landmark movies like Prema Loka, Ranadheera, Yuga Purusha, Yuddha Kaanda, Ramachaari, Annaiah, Halli Meshtru, Preethsod Thappa? Sipaayi and many more in the last two decades.

His female leads include Juhi Chawla, Khushboo, Shilpa Shetty, Namratha Shirodkar, Poonam Dhillon, Amala and several others.
