Kriti ecstatic over her Kannada debut

Model-turned actress Kriti Kharbanda is ecstatic over her debut Kannada film – Chiru – which will be released all over Karnataka shortly.

Though Kriti is settled in Bangalore, she debuted in Telugu last year. According to the actress, she did not find any interesting project in Kannada last year and had no choice but accept the Telugu offer.

“Chiru is different. It has given me ample scope. I play the male protagonist’s love interest. I appear in the role of a young girl in all possible costumes. It is an interesting project,” she says.

Kriti is a product of a Bangalore college. She has also done a jewelry designing course. She is a popular model in the Bangalore fashion circuit and has appeared at various shows for top designers.

The actress has two more Kannada films on hand. But she is not keen on letting out the secret as of now: “The producers want to announce the projects on their own. So, wait until then.”

In the meantime, Kriti will be seen in another Telugu film with Pawan Kalyan. This movie could propel Kriti into the top league.

The audio tracks of Chiru were released last week in Bangalore. Giridhar Diwan has composed 6 tracks for the film. The film is directed by Mahesh Babu and produced by Jhenkar Movies.

Chiranjeevi Sarja, nephew of Tamil star Arjun, is the male lead of Chiru. Incidentally, Chiru is the nickname of Chiranjeevi Sarja.

The movie was shot extensively in Karnataka and foreign locations like Switzerland. Sundarnatha Suvarna is the cinematographer for the movie.
