Sharmila moves to Tamil
Kannada glamour queen Sharmila Mandre is moving to Tamil films. Shortly, the shooting for her first Tamil film will commence.
The movie is being produced by a big banner. It has been Sharmila’s dream to act in a Tamil movie, and now she is set for a major launch. “Please wait for the details as we are yet to officially announce the movie, star cast and technical crew,” she says.
Sharmila believes her Tamil foray will propel her into the big league in South Indian films. She is already among the top in Kannada films having acted in several hit movies.
On the home-front, Sharmila is eagerly looking forward to her next film Kari Chirathe (Black Leopard) opposite Duniya Vijay. This is for the first time that she has been cast opposite Duniya Vijay and she is excited about the movie.
“I appear in a completely different role for the first time. I am curious about this particular film. I am confident that it will do well,” she adds.
The film’s tracks have already become hit. In one particular track, Sharmila is seen in retro costumes. “It was fun working for this track,” she points out with the song being played regularly on FM stations and TV channels.
The multi-talented Sadhu Kokila has composed the music for the film.
Kari Chirathe is directed by Maadesh, who directed Raam, Puneeth Rajkumar’s hit film. The others in the star cast include Yagna Shetty, Jai Jagadeesh, Rangayana Raghu and Sudha Belawadi.
Earlier this year, Sharmila was seen in a comedy film Swayamwara. Though the movie was entertaining, it failed to make an impact at the box office. But that has not deterred Sharmila who has acted with some of the top actors in Kannada films, including Ganesh, Diganth and Sameer Dattani.
